• The celebrations of festivals, important days, customs and rituals in the School premises reveal a great deal about nurturing and inculcating good values in young minds. Celebrations in Tree House High School, Kalyan have become an integral part of joyful learning, community building and thought provoking processes. Religious festivals from across religions, national festivals and festivals related to our environment are celebrated with great enthusiasm, fervour and pride. Children are exposed to the essence of the festivals through stories, music, dance, food, discussions and a variety of hands-on activities and projects.
  • The festivals are not only connected to our social and environmental context but to one’s inner world too. Students learn about special foods, songs, clothes and loads of other information. The general atmosphere in the school also becomes festive when students are allowed on special days to come in appropriate clothes.
  • During Dusehra, it was the burning of the Ravana with a difference; we tried to challenge that part in us which is undesirable. While Christmas brought out the joy of giving and spreading joy amongst ourselves. The fasting month of Ramzan helped us get in touch with our inner discipline and Independence Day was about questioning and revisiting the true meaning of freedom and its relevance in today’s context. Along with the enthusiasm, fun and activities of celebrations, the qualities of sensitivity, simplicity and creativity is highlighted.

Investiture Ceremony

Student council plays a vital role in a Student’s life. It gives an opportunity to students to learn the skills of leadership, team building, resource utilization, prioritizing tasks and confidence building. Leadership skills help students in several ways and are essential for them to deal with their peers during their academic years and in their practical life as well.

At Tree House High School, Kalyan, Students have a voice and a contribution to make to their school. We provide them an opportunity to express their views on issues of concern to them in the school. It is equally important that they are listened to and encouraged to take an active part in promoting the aims and objectives of the school.

Friendship Day

Friendship is an integral part of our lives and our happiness. Friends come in all shapes and sizes and offer different things. These friends can be turned to in times of crisis and celebration. We rely on friends as well as family for support, companionship and advice at various stages of our lives.

At School, we celebrate the spirit of Friendship by tying friendship bands on plants and taking vow to take care of the environment


Janmashtami is the birthday of lord Krishna which is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over the country. It is believed that lord Vishnu reincarnated in the form of lord Krishna on the auspicious day of Janmashtami. At Sanjivani, small children come to school dressed up as Krishna and take part in various cultural activities to learn the significance to encourage goodwill and to discourage bad will. It also celebrates togetherness, thus it signifies unity and faith.

Dahi Handi

Students dressed up as Lord Krishna and Gopikas and enthusiastically take part in the celebration of Dahi Handi. Students, teachers and other staff members make pyramids and try to break the handi which is tied with a rope at a height which is followed by cultural programs.

Independence Day

Independence Day of India is celebrated at the School premises 15th August every year with great splendor, joy and respect for Mother India. Many cultural programs are organized on the Independence Day at the school and children love to watch them and participate in them which fill them with the feeling of unity, patriotism and secularism. We dedicate this day to all those brave leaders and fighters who gave freedom to this golden bird on this day. It is a national festival and has equal importance for every Indian regardless of religion, class, creed or race.

Teacher’s Day

At Tree House High School, Teacher's Day celebrations are undertaken to honor teachers for their sincere efforts to impart knowledge to their students. By having celebrations on Teacher's Day, we convey the message that we care for our teachers, just as they do. Celebrating the festival is the recognition of the devotion, with which, teachers undertake the responsibility of educating a child academically as well as morally. On this day, students dress up like their teachers and teach their juniors, the same way as their teachers do. As the day passes, the students perform the cultural activities in which teachers take part enthusiastically.

Hindi Diwas

Hindi Diwas is celebrated at Tree House High School to show the importance of Hindi language in the country. Hindi Diwas is celebrated in the school with the unique programs and competitions organized related to Hindi poems, story recitations, vocabulary quizzes and etc.


On the occasion of Dussera the students enacted scenes from the epic Ramayana. The effigy of Ravana was also burnt to depict the victory of good over evil. Students were told about the importance of Dussehra and explained why it was called Vijay Dashmi as this brings the message in mind that how being in reverence and gratitude towards everything that matters in our lives leads to success and victory.


Diwali is the biggest and the brightest festival in India. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness. At Sanjivani, we promote Eco-friendly Diwali, and inculcate the value of empathy to our children, so that they learn to remove darkness from the lives of people by helping them in some way.

A flower Rangoli competition is organized house-wise in which students participate enthusiastically. Each class also makes eco-friendly rangoli at the entrance of their respective classrooms.

Children’s Day

John Kennedy, 35th US president has quoted it rightly, 'Children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future.

Children's Day celebration is the tribute to childhood. At Tree House High School, we inculcate the values and disciplines learned as a child are responsible for the kind of adulthood one has. Thus childhood is special and should be celebrated. Children's Day is to remind all young and adults about children's right to enjoy their childhood without any boundaries and to be educated adult in the future. Children's Day is to revise the right methods of raising children.

We teach our students that many children in India are not getting basic privileges like education. Many children are earning money instead of playing with toys. The true essence of children's day is to understand the significance of childhood in our lives.


Christmas is a time to give and forgive. It is celebrated everywhere as a joyous family affair, we too, at School celebrate Christmas as a happy time for our children. We celebrate “joy of giving” week where our students collects the items like toys, books and other gifts to be given to unprivileged children. Cultural activities are organized at the school, which includes Christmas Carols, Card making, and Christmas tree is decorated f or the children. Children enjoy fun time with the teacher clad in Santa Clause costume.

Republic Day

The Republic Day is celebrated every year in all its solemnity and grandeur at Tree House High School on 26th January. The students salute the National Flag and pledged themselves to uphold the honour and integrity, diversity and uniqueness that is “India”.

The choir group presents the patriotic song. The students take pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. Students learn the importance and meaning of being “Republic” and responsibilities underlying.

Saraswati Pooja

Saraswati is the goddess of education, art culture and music. The festival is celebrated usually on the day of Vasant Panchami. At Tree House High School, the day is celebrated with puja and cultural programs are also arranged. This day is considered as the birth day of goddess Saraswati. The pooja helps children to understand the importance of this festival and celebrate it with more devotion and dedication.

Raas Garba

Raas or Dandiya Raas is the traditional folk dance form of Gujarat, India,originated in Vrindavan by Lord Krishna, where it is performed depicting scenes of Holi, and lila of Krishna and Radha. Tree House High School organizes Raas Garba in the School premises for the students. School echoes with dandia songs, fun, zeal and laughter of children all around.

Valediction Day

A valediction ceremony is organized at the School premises to bade farewell to the Class tenth students by the class ninth students. It always remains an unforgettable event which is hosted in the well-organized manner. Students and teachers travel down to recollect memories with emotions running high. The outgoing students also pledge to execute their duties with courage, compassion, determination and apply the values in their life, learnt in the school. Cultural activities are a part of the function; students rock the stage on the beats of music and dance. Mr. and Ms. Tree House are selected by the Principal on the basis of questionnaire and students are presented with mementoes as token of love from the Tree House family.

School Fete

Tree House High School organizes variety of School Fetes which helps inculcating social values, innovativeness, and creativity in the students. It is theme based celebration and involves number of activities and includes entertainment stalls such as food, games, tattoos etc. Sometimes exhibitions on various topics are also kept. Selected group of grades with defined learning outcome participate in the School fete and imbibe the value of team spirit, gratitude and respect to the various professions.

School Annual Day

A colourful cultural programme based on a relevant theme marks Annual day celebrations of Tree House High School every alternate year. It is one of the most anxiously awaited occasions in the school. Great excitement and hurried activities are visible all around. Students participate with great enthusiasm and joy, which brings out the creative best from the students. The school offers hundred percent student participation.
